Art We Love: Nat en Voyage
Sayonara, Winter. There's a new season in town, and it looks just as great on your walls as it feels in real life. To celebrate the shift, we're teaming up with travel photographer Natalie Obradovich of Nat en Voyage – the place to go for prints that exude the millennial jet-set style. Now, we know our clean gallery frames are the go-to choice for these beauties, but we thought we'd show you how this otherwise modern style doesn't have to be limited to modern frames. What's more? We're giving them away. Three of them! Ranging in value from $249 to $299. So, sit back, relax, and see exactly how you bring a little bit of the beach inside – no matter your style.
This "Beach Scenes" print fills us with a sense of nostalgia. That Labor Day weekend kind of feeling when you know a good thing (Summer) is coming to an end, but it's not quite over yet. Our antiqued silver Newport frame was made for moments like this. In the same way it adds the perfect amount of classic formality to your favorite family photos, it's thin profile and subtle shine elevate this modern beach photo in a way a modern moulding can't.
It's almost hard to believe this shot is real. The subtly shifting hues of blue water are beautifully shaded by wet-suit clad surfers, and highlighted by sunshine and surfboards. Our black bamboo Bali frame was a natural choice to complement the masculinity of the piece. We rarely suggest a black frame for beach prints, but in this case it alludes to the beach-y subject without making an overtly literal statement. Plus, the bamboo adds some really nice visual texture to contrast with the silky smooth water. Are you convinced yet? Because we are.
Perfectly placed and precisely spaced, we have never seen beach umbrellas look so good. This photo is undoubtedly the perfect beach day. Just add towel and water. In addition to being a beautifully set scene however, the bright orange and blue in this photo make it a real showstopper. We know, we said you should branch out from our clean white gallery frame. In this case though, we think it's the perfect fit. Black would be too harsh and metallics would clash, but Irvine Slim is just right.
