My Story: Wallpaper Kisses

Today we're sharing a different kind of Customer Spotlight. Normally, we don't have the pleasure of meeting our customers in person, but Alexandra and her boyfriend stopped by our booth at the Affordable Art Fair in NYC and we were so excited to chat. Needless to say, we had a great time picking out frames for pieces they had just purchased at the fair, as well as and learning about their art. Of course we had to share– meet Alexandra!

Where is home? I was born and raised in New York, but a few months ago I moved to the Upper West Side from Midtown. The neighborhood feels like home already.

What do you do? I spent 10 years working at (product development creative firm) Verge Creative Group as their Director of Brand Strategy and have recently gone on to help build a lifestyle intimates brand as their Director of Marketing.

What are some of your favorite things? Home décor is number one on my list. Always pinning, always adding to my apartment’s design, always setting up a styled corner with fresh flowers and a stack of books, always looking for inspiration. I love exploring my city, going to art events, checking out live music and new restaurants.

What did you frame with us? I framed two special pieces – a signed Donald Robertson wallpaper panel from his takeover at STORY NYC, and the photo “Untitled” (2008) by Dana Lauren Goldstein.

Why is it special to you? I love anything that Donald Robertson does, it’s all so chic! And I love the pops of color. His original pieces are a small fortune so framing this wallpaper panel was a way to have a piece of his art and aesthetic in an affordable way. Framing wallpaper is one of my favorite sneaky design tricks.

The photograph was actually a purchase at the Affordable Art Fair in NYC last fall. I have a soft spot for this event; my boyfriend and I go every season- it was one of our first dates!

What are you excited to frame next? A “C’est la Vie” print from Blacklist Studio that will go in our entryway and a painting I just finished (because who doesn’t love a little home DIY?!)

*Swoon* Thanks, Alexandra! Head over here for more decor inspiration and over here for more from Alexandra.
