Our Favorite Things: January 2016

Hello, 2016! Much like a Jessica Jones binge-watching session, January went by way too quickly. In between the blur of New Year's Eve and #snowzilla we managed to enjoy a little bit of January. Here are some highlights from our first attempt at 2016.

In January 2016 we...

Couldn't stop eating/drinking…

Hot chocolate / hot tea / hot soup. It's freezing! Must. Stay. Warm. Oh, and popcorn. Nothing satisfies that 3pm kind of hungry like popcorn.

Couldn't stop watching...

We can’t lie… Grease Live! made us feel feelings. So many feelings.

Couldn't stop listening to...

Philly band Hop Along’s new album, Painted Shut. Singer Frances Quinlan is an artist and does all of the album and merch artwork herself!

Started saving for…

After being buried for a week in our houses and apartments (thank you, #snowzilla), we emerged with fairly detailed plans (in our heads and on our Pinterest boards) for Jessica Helgerson-esque renos, totally vintage / traditional / eclectic dining room salon-style gallery walls, and major statement bag investments. Oh, and after our time at this weekend’s Create & Cultivate conference in Dallas, we’re craving a huge, huge fiddle leaf fig tree… That we’re sure we’ll totally be able to keep alive.

Couldn't get enough of...

While Leo’s performance in The Revenant was respectable and totally impressive, but SO hard to watch (3 hours of gore and chapped lip… ew), his performance when Lady Gaga won her Golden Globe and bumped him on her way to the stage was quite the opposite. We could seriously watch that every day.

Were in love with (art/artists)…

Mandy Moehler: If we aren't going to exercise ourselves, we'll frame exercise equipment… Neatly organized, of course.

Were so excited for...

What does it say about us that we’re pretty much only excited for new TV?

The People vs. OJ Simpson: February 2. We’ve heard it’s amazing, and we’re not sure if that means amazingly good or amazingly bad, but we’re 100% down either way.

Fuller House: February 26. We love you more than ever, Netflix. And we kind of hate you for opting out, Olsen Twins, but it’s only because we secretly love you.

Were happy about...

Our resolution game stayed strong. Snowzilla made it impossible not to clean and organize and declutter. #silverlining

We're hoping February brings…

Lots of comfy sweaters, fun vintage furniture finds, a peony or two, and an Oscar win for Leo… Those lips deserve one after all these years.
