How To: Get Your Home Ready for the Big Game
It's the game of the year. You've got a crew of family and friends coming over. And the pressure is ON to get your home game-day-ready. Well, think of us as the reinforcements. Your offensive line (that's a thing, right?). Press pause on that panic button and keep reading for some last minute party prep.
Get Your Walls Ready
We'll let you be the judge of how team spirited you'd like to be. We do, however, think this a golden opportunity to put all your favorite sports items on display.
- Sports Swag: Whether it's a jersey, pennant, race bib, or some other special piece of sports memorabilia, if you've got it, flaunt it! Hang those babies on the mantel or lean them on a side table. It doesn't have to be football related. It's all about capturing that sports vibe. (Wondering what to frame? Check out Frame It: Sports Swag for some ideas.)
Get Your Tailgate Gear Out
- Coolers, Koozies, and Furniture: Just because you're watching the game inside, doesn't mean all your game day gear needs to stay in the garage. Grab your coolers, koozies, and extra tables and chairs. These things are just as useful inside, as they are outside!
Get Your Space Arranged
All the action takes place in front of the TV, which means you've got to make sure your living room is up to the task. Here are a couple things to keep in mind.
Furniture: While we love a good accent chair in the corner, you may have to rearrange things a little bit to ensure an optimal TV viewing experience. Beat your guests to the punch, and make sure your sofa, chairs, and ottomans are in prime locations. If you brought in reinforcements from the garage, make sure to include them in your plan.
- Floor pillows and throws: Break your floor pillows free from that gorgeous stack you have in the corner. Or... just grab a few. Football is the perfect casual occasion to use these as extra seating. And, in case your guests get a little chilly, or just want to really cozy up on the couch – be sure to have some throws ready to, well, throw.
Got it? Good. You got this. All you have to do now is throw on your stretchy pants, kick back, relax, and enjoy the game... or, um, the commercials.
